A Million Suns is the second book in Beth Revis’ YA series, and I finished it a couple of weeks ago. As usual, I am reviewing things long after they are normally done (hence the title), but I think it’s good. This way all the hooplah is over and maybe a few people will see this modest little blog. This book continues the story of the generation ship Godspeed as it travels 300 light years to Centauri-Earth. Anyone who read my review of Across the Universe, the first book, will remember that I loved it. Well with this one Beth did it again (may I call you Beth?). This book is full of intrigue, action, suspense, romance, you name it, it’s in there. I devoured this one, and can’t wait (January 15, 2013) for the final volume.
Again, this book would make a perfect movie. The story has all the elements for a fun, entertaining movie appropriate for almost anyone. The book is a young adult novel, but it’s intelligent enough for adults and doesn’t talk down to young people. The themes are realistic, sometimes dark, but not so much that it would be bad for kids. As a matter of fact I think kids of almost any age would love this book. I don’t want to give anything away so I’ll just say, go get it, borrow it, buy it, whatever you have to do you need to read this book.
