Sleepwalking is an indie horror comic from writer P.A. Wikoff and artist Andre de Almeida currently on Kickstarter with issue #2. With 12 days left, the book has tripled its goal. You can find all the details at the project’s page on Kickstarter.
Sleepwalking is a psychological horror comic about a man who suffers from severe insomnia, but when he does sleep he is unable to tell reality from nightmare. He wakes up in places he doesn’t remember going to and has memories that he can’t tell are real or just imagined. Jamie battles his afflication with drugs and alcohol, but will it be enough to retain his sanity?
Like many indie projects, this is the passionate work of individuals who work around a full-time day job. Initially the first issue was to debut during the convention season of 2020 but due to COVID restrictions that plan fell through. Now with issue #2 funded, they hope to ship in September.
According to the creators, this book will appeal to those who like ‘slow burn’ type stories, that take their time working through the plot as well as fans of The Twilight Zone, Hitchcock, Black Mirror, and other psychological horror. It promises to be a multi-issue story that builds on each episode, keeping you guessing until the very end.
There is still time to back the book and get your DRM free PDF, physical issues, prints and other rewards. Check out the Kickstarter page linked above for more art samples, reviews, and details on the project.
