Really? Here is the thing. It was only a kick not a ban(for the bad pilot). Its up to us to decide what to do with what we think is intentional or not. Would you not throw a fit if you were in the chopper and some idiot used a full bird as a taxi ride to a good sniper spot. Chopper crashes and and kills all after he bails. 4 tk’s gets you an auto kick by our plug in anyway. If he had done it on purpose the kick might have changed his attitude. Or he would have come back in and earned the ban eventually. Its hard for us to speculate as to the intentions of every player. Bet your sweet ass if there was someone doing that sort of thing on purpose you would be yelling for something to be done. In your view we are damned if we do damned if we dont. So we should just ignore mass tk’s and assume they are all an accident?

If the target words are such an issue than write a smarter plug in that can decipher context. That plug in saves us a lot of time dealing with people that want to run off at the mouth and and run people down. Its not perfect, but it helps.

While we do have some heavy admins from time to time, that also is a work in progress. We are a clan of 40+. Its hard to get all personalities on the same page. For you to say its a horrible server is sort of wrong. Not to sound like a jerk, but have you ever heard of speak when your spoken too? Why did you feel you needed to be the voice of the people and get in on the argument. He didnt get banned just kicked. He was welcome to come back in.

Point being is that we do respect the pubs and regs that come in to our server. In the same token its our money and our server to run as we see fit. Why do so many people want to run to any public forum and bash something that they dont pay for, or contribute to. We have our rules and plug ins for a reason. We are almost ALWAYS full for a reason. People want a good hardcore server to play in with out worrying about people running off at the mouth and name calling. If one person is allowed to be a dick and disrespect admins and other players that is going to invite others to do it also.

It feels like just because you bought a game you feel you should have a say in how servers are run. You dont. The ones paying for them do. If you had came to our forums and posted concerns rather than run to EA forums things would have been much different. Point is I hate people that have to run to the forums and cry about a server. It reminds of people that would always run and tell mom when they didnt get what they wanted.

Do you expect a warm reception from people when the first thing you do is run to EA forums? You chose to sob like a child in a public forum rather than handle an issue like an adult. Its funny, when I read hate post in the forums about anything I like to read them using the voice of a child crying. it makes me laugh.

I have been an odin admin for 2 years. I hardly ban and try and treat people with respect and expect the same from them. As i said before, our house cant be all that bad. We are always full.
    Enjoy other servers,

K Mojo, If you read the post you would notice that I said “They are certainly not as bad as DA, not by a long shot, but recently I have had, and witnessed, some bad experiences with a couple of their admins.” Not a horrible server. I don’t even think I used the word horrible anywhere in there.

Yes it is your server, and you pay for it. I respect that. I run a guild, I pay for this server, I’ve paid for an FPS server in the past, and I have been an admin for years. I am currently a due paying member of a clan. I understand your side of it and if you would take a step back you would realize this post, and others, were meant to show what it looks like from the public side. Lines like this:

“Point is I hate people that have to run to the forums and cry about a server.

Shows what I mean. Why should it matter where your clan responds? It’s ok to treat people like garbage on a public forum like BF3’s but not on your own? You guys really have that sort of mentality?

I have been called a lot of things over the past week by your clan mates, troll, child, douche bag, etc. You’ve even come here and done it. Through it all I’ve been civil. I’ve taken into account, as I said here and elsewhere, your server is not all bad. It’s not terrible. It’s just not welcoming to everyone, and some people might have bad experiences. I did, others have. One of my clan mates was kicked from your server a couple months ago for accidentally tking an admin. Guess it’s ok to punish as long as you have the !kick command available huh? Most of my clan won’t play on your server because of that incident.

Also note, I have not once told you how to run your server. My article is to the community, as a warning, what not to do and what to watch out for on Odin Brigade. You all are welcome and free to run your server the way you like. It results in experiences like this.

Finally, I thank you for visiting, reading and commenting. Welcome to MY HOUSE. That said, next time you want to call names, don’t bother. I approved your post because it was mostly well thought out and your calling me a child and talking about me crying pays perfect credence to my argument that you do not respect people. Only people that talk nice about you or don’t talk at all. In fact your clan, in its entirety so far, has treated someone that doesn’t kiss up with the utmost disrespect.

I wasn’t trying to call you a child but refer child like behavior. The crying comment is about all hate posts in EA forums. It seems one guy out several thousands gets butt hurt and they have to run to the forums. I just dont like going to large forums to complain about things. I have had bad times in servers but not once posted. Let people make up there own minds about servers. I will agree that some of our admins can be harsh. Its a work in progress. I am one of the ones trying to help correct it. I just dont see why you need to share your bad experiences with the community. I guess if you feel you are doing a public service than I guess thats your right.

Once again, your clan mate that tk’ed an admin was kicked not banned. I cant speak for every admin. Maybe he thought that given the events of the tk, it might have been intentional. Give me some numbers. You say you have a clan and most wont play because of one incident. How many are in your clan? How many have had a bad experience themselves? Or do they make there opinions based on the opinions of others. Its obvious that you were in our sever even after the stated event.

Its to bad you judge a server and its admins based on 2 experiences that did not directly involve you. I mean would you go try and mediate an argument between your neighbor and his wife when it has nothing to do with you? If it does not involve me than I tend to stay out of it. What is your BF3 server. I would be happy to come spend some time in there. We run a tight ship and we make no apologies for it.

Actually, again if you read the post, I am basing it on my experiences and the experiences of others that I have witnessed. I am basing it on events over the course of different days at different times. Yes I played on your server after some of those experiences because I tend to be less likely to write off a server because of one or two things.

As for the neighbor/wife example. If it were in public yes I might, if one was being noticeably abusive to the other. That’s what civilized people do.

We don’t have a BF3 server anymore, our clan has moved on and we have dozens of members. Some of us still play BF3 others are playing COD.

As for the child comments, oh sure, saying someone is acting like a child and someone is a child is so different…that excuse was lame the moment it was thought of. It’s disrespectful no matter how you turn it. Not one member of your clan that has commented has chosen to be respectful. You don’t agree, oh well, the proof is in the pudding.

Either way, you have your opinion and I have mine. Just like you won’t apologize for your clan’s actions, the name calling, the trolling, etc, I won’t apologize because I feel like letting the community at large know what to expect.

There’s an old adage, those who are quick to defend are probably guilty, those who are mean about it mostly likely are.

Added: Anyway, neither of us benefit from any further round and round. We probably aren’t going to agree. Props for being the only one willing to admit that clans have problems including yours. You would be the first of the Odins to admin that it’s possible some of your admins might be an issue. Mad props for that. Have fun in game, might see me if you play on other servers.
