This year has been quite a year for us, especially the last four months or so. Great movies seen, and awesome games played. Exciting announcements for upcoming games and movies and chill-inducing teasers. We’ve seen strange lightsaber controversies, as well as scandal in the video game industry. We’ve even seen a legion of underdogs, those used to being pushed around and shamed, stand up and say ‘enough is enough’ to some surprising success, despite the constant barrage of negative press.
Here on Frags and Beer we’ve seen a steady increase of regular readers, so thank you to all those that stop by and check the place out, share the links, and help us out. This is a true labor of love, and we’ve come a long way, but we have a lot more work to do. We started this thing as a personal blog, with myself just writing whatever I felt like writing and my wife, our photographer, providing some of the great images, especially from the cons we attend. We’ve slowly shifted to a webzine format, but we still have some changes to make with our older articles. Thank you for putting up with the changes, the look and feel that’s shifted, and all the ‘dust’ as we tested new features and pages.
We’ve also finally added our own Facebook page and Twitter for the ‘zine, so look to the right, give us a follow/like and keep up to date on everything that’s happening. For the coming year we are looking to add writers and possibly YouTubers to our staff, and we’ve adjusted our format to meet the community type of site we want. We are also working on an ethics policy of our own in response to the community’s loud and justified demand for higher standards in media. That said, you’ll be seeing some of our older posts moved to archives, and some disclosures added to others. We’ll be cleaning up some of the ‘blog’ posts, and shifting others to the editorial section.
So, again, thank you for stopping by. We celebrate Yule here, so blessed Yule, but we also hope that you have a wonderful holiday, whichever holiday you celebrate this time of year. If you celebrate none then we hope you have an awesome December, a great New Year, and a great start to 2015. We’ve got some great stuff coming up, so stay tuned, and stay warm. Have fun!
